The Tintcape app
Tintcape does not collect personal data, browsing history or usage analytics. There are no in-app accounts or advertising. Theme choices, schedules, saved styles and site rules are stored in your browser’s local extension storage.
Website access
The extension reads and changes webpages to apply your chosen colors, fonts, text size and image effects. Page addresses are used locally to choose site settings and compatibility fixes. You can limit website access in Safari settings.
Network requests
The theme engine may request a page’s stylesheets and images to analyze their colors, including resources on other domains. Extension background requests omit cookies and login credentials. Those resource servers receive ordinary network information, including your IP address. Page content is not sent to Tintcape’s developer.
Optional content blocking
Safari handles network blocking. Cosmetic blocking examines page element IDs and classes locally to hide matching elements. Filter lists and compatibility fixes are bundled with the app and updated through app releases. No browsing or request logs are sent to the developer.
Settings, backups and diagnostics
Status checks stay on your device; there is no automatic remote diagnostic report. Settings do not sync automatically through a cloud service. Exported backups contain your settings and may include site rules. You can reset your settings from the app’s controls or remove the extension.
This website
This website does not use advertising, analytics, tracking cookies or third-party fonts. Its style preview runs in your browser without saving your choices. Our hosting and network providers process the ordinary connection data needed to deliver and secure the website, such as IP addresses and requested URLs.
Apple services
Apple’s own privacy policies apply to its services, including Safari and App Store distribution. Tintcape is independent of Apple.
